Elementary School

Be shaped

Your child is like clay at this stage of development. And the primary things forming them are the people they spend the most time with—their parents, peers, and teachers.

These foundational years are when essential academic skills take shape alongside godly character.

Berean Academy partners with you in this sacred work—carefully, intentionally, and prayerfully molding young learners’ hearts and minds.

Biblical Foundation in Every Classroom

Daily Bible classes shape young hearts around God’s character. But spiritual formation doesn’t stop there.

Whether students are discovering patterns in math or exploring the wonders of creation in science, teachers help them see biblical truth woven throughout their day. Weekly chapels create space for worship and growing closer to Jesus alongside classmates.

Academic Growth through Careful Progression

Learning builds on itself, and we design each grade to prepare students for what comes next. Lower elementary students master foundational skills that become the building blocks for more complex thinking in upper elementary.

01

Reading

Our intensive phonics program from kindergarten through second grade gives every student the tools to decode any word they encounter. By first grade, students join our Accelerated Reader program, which builds both reading stamina and comprehension through books matched to their level and interests.

02

Math

In grades 3-5, personalized practice programs meet each student exactly where they are in math and language arts, providing problems that challenge without overwhelming. Whether a student needs extra support with fractions or is ready to tackle advanced concepts, the work adapts to their pace.

03

Stem

Our STEM program brings science to life through hands-on activities that spark creativity and problem-solving skills. Students engineer structures with Brain Flakes and magnetic tiles, explore geometry through Tangrams, and get excited about chemistry by creating elephant toothpaste, lemon volcanoes, and ice cream in a bag. These interactive experiences help students discover the joy of learning through experimentation.

Growing Together

Group activities shape collaboration skills while recess provides time for problem-solving and friendship-building. Students learn to:

  • Share ideas
  • Resolve conflicts
  • Celebrate each other’s successes

These social skills prove just as valuable as academic ones.
