Summer Reading & the Principal’s Challenge

Rising 1st-5th Graders

Berean is offering two opportunities for summer enrichment for rising 1st – 5th graders. Both are optional, and participation in either or both will be an investment into your child’s academic development.

First, students may participate in our traditional summer reading program. There is no cost to participate in this program, but there are two incentives offered to those who complete the program by the first day of school. They are as follows:

  1. Five dress-down day vouchers
  2. A test grade to start off the new school year

The second optional enrichment program is the Principal’s Summer Challenge. This program costs $20 and requires students to complete math exercises through IXL Math, earn a specified number of Accelerated Reader points (a reading log will be assigned to rising first graders), and complete up to four science-based activities. Students who complete the challenge by the deadline will receive a 2021 “I Met the Principal’s Challenge” t-shirt, which may be worn on specified school days. The deadline to register for this summer challenge is Friday, June 4.
