Beginning of Distance Learning & Building Update

Distance Learning Preparation

A little more than two weeks ago, we began making plans for the possibility of distance learning for our students. Since then, our teachers have been diligently designing lesson plans that are conducive to distance learning. I am incredibly proud of this group of professionals for rising to the occasion for the sake of our students.

The faculty and I will be meeting on campus on Monday, March 30, to finalize the launch of our first week of distance learning. We will be meeting in groups and practicing the social distancing protocols of which we have all become accustomed. These meetings will allow us to discuss what are being proposed as best practices for distance learning under these circumstances.

We will share introductory information related to our distance program on Monday, March 30. Our plan is to ease into distance learning with an initial focus on understanding the processes involved. We anticipate some technical challenges due to the unfamiliar nature of this type of education, and we will welcome questions and requests for assistance.

Building Update

I am pleased to share that workers poured the foundation of our new building on Friday. The project is a little behind schedule due to the frequent and heavy rains over the last couple of months, but our builder said the building will be ready for use for the start of the next school year.
