Three New Faculty Members Join our Elementary Staff

We are excited to announce the addition of three new teachers to our elementary faculty – Kaleigh Brandon, Tim Brown, and Chase Basinger.

Miss Brandon is a Chattanooga-area native and has returned to our community after teaching in a Christian School in West Virginia. She has experience teaching kindergarten and 2nd grade and will teach kindergarten at Berean during the 2020-2021 school year.

Mr. Brown is the husband of 5th grade teacher Judi Brown and father of two Berean Academy students; he will teach 4th grade during 2020-2021 school year. Mr. Brown is an experienced elementary teacher and has a heart for ministering to people of all ages. His areas of ministry include church planting and pastoring; he also has worked in the financial services industry.

Mr. Basinger became a member of the Berean Academy community last year when he and his wife enrolled their four children in our school. Mr. Basinger has a master’s degree in Christian education and has experience in Christian schools in Florida. In addition to teaching, his ministry experiences include serving as a church music director, assistant pastor, and songwriter.

Miss Brandon and Mr. Brown are filling the positions that opened with the departures of Mrs. Scallions (kindergarten) and Mr. Barrows (4th grade). We are thankful for the years of service from Mrs. Scallions and Mr. Barrows and wish them the best. Mr. Basinger and Mrs. Brown will team teach in the 5th grade, which has two sections for the 2020-2021 school year.
